De acuerdo con una investigaci贸n realizada por la BBC, los l谩pices de mueven por la fuerza de gravedad y/o la posici贸n tan inestable en la que se encuentran.
Si uno pone los l谩pices en la posici贸n que pide el juego, realice o no una pregunta estos pueden moverse debido a una simple variaci贸n en el ambiente.
Ya sea un m铆nimo temblor en la superficie o un movimiento m谩s intenso en la corriente de aire, inclusive la respiraci贸n del jugador puede hacer que el l谩piz gire hacia uno u otro lado.

Lo comparan con la ouija

A diferencia de la ouija, en donde los jugadores apoyan su mano en un pedazo de madera que se mueve por el contacto, los l谩pices parecieran moverse solos o hacia donde ‘dice’ Charlie.
Los editores de la BBC aseguran que tras intentar hacer el reto los l谩pices ni se inmutaron y explican que eso ocurre cuando los l谩pices no est谩n alineados perfectamente o cuando la superficie de contacto (por ejemplo si el l谩piz tiene una superficie facetada) es demasiado grande.
